Preparation

For food safety and quality, read and follow these COOKING INSTRUCTIONS to ensure that prdouct reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Cooking time may vary based on equipment. Check for doneness using a thermometer.

BOILING WATER: Place pouch in boiling water; rotate several times during cooking. Carefully remove using tongs. Cook Frozen (0°F) product 55-60 minutes / Thawed (40°F or less) product 35-40 minutes.

MICROWAVE OVEN 1100 Watt:  Place 8 oz of Thawed (40°F) product into a microwave-safe container. Cover loosely; slit to vent. Stir halfway through cooking; re-cover. Cook 8 oz Thawed product on High Power 2 ½ – 3 minutes.

  • Product must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F. Stir well before checking temperature.
  • Hold pouch with insulated rubber gloves or tongs. Cut off one corner of pouch, pour into serving container. Stir hourly during holding. 
  • If thawing, product must be thawed under refrigeration (40°F) for no more than 48 hours prior to cooking. DO NOT REFREEZE.
