Preparation

For food safety and quality, read and follow these COOKING INSTRUCTIONS to ensure that product reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Cooking time may vary based on equipment and quantity cooked in equipment. Check for doneness using thermometer.

CONVECTION OVEN 325ºF Preheated: Do not loosen lid. Place tray on a baking sheet. Stir halfway through cooking; replace lid. Cook Frozen (0ºF) product for 55-60 min./Thawed (40ºF or less) product for 30-35 min. 

CONVENTIONAL OVEN 400ºF Preheated: Do not loosen lid. Place tray on a baking sheet. Stir halfway through cooking; replace lid. Cook Frozen (0ºF) product for 1 hr. and 30-35 min./Thawed (40ºF or less) product for 40-45 min.

LOW PRESSURE STEAMER 5-7 lb. PSI: Do not loosen lid. Cook Frozen (0ºF) product for 1 hr. and 15-20 min./Thawed (40ºF or less) product for 35-40 min. 

MICROWAVE OVEN 1100 WATT: Cook loosely covered in microwave-safe container; stir. Cook 8 oz Thawed (40ºF or less) product 50% Power for 3 - 3 1/2 min. 

NOTE: Product must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F. Stir well before checking temperature. If thawing, product must be thawed under refrigeration (40ºF) for no more than 48 hours prior to cooking.  DO NOT REFREEZE.

Servings Suggestions

Suggestions

Try substituting for pumpkin in muffins, quick breads, cookies, pies and cheese cake. Excellent base for a creamy sweet potato soup. Garnish with apricot preserves, marmalade or warm maple syrup. Stir in raisins, diced ham or drained crushed pineapple for a different flavor dimension. Top with a mixture of brown sugar, margarine, chopped pecans and coconut before baking. Pipe sweet potatoes into rosettes and bake to a set consistency.
