|Hot water||1/2 cup|
|Granulated sugar||2–3 tsp|
|Quarter-size slices of peeled fresh ginger||2|
|Whole black peppercorns||8|
|Ground cardamom||1/2 tsp|
|Ground cinnamon||1/8 tsp|
|Lowfat milk||1 cup|
- Combine coffee granules, water, sugar, ginger, peppercorns, cardamom, and cinnamon in small container. Let sit for 3 minutes.
- Place milk in microwave-safe pitcher and microwave on high (100%) power for 1 minute, 30 seconds or until very hot.
- Strain coffee mixture into pitcher; discard spices.
- Divide between 2 mugs.
Tip: Use cold milk in place of hot and serve over ice for an Iced Chai Coffee.
