The Sweet Earth Awesome Burger aims to meet the needs of flexitarians and meat eaters who are actively seeking to reduce meat in their diet and switch to plant-based meals more often. The development of the Awesome Burger has been a collaboration between Sweet Earth and Nestlé. Nestlé, who purchased Sweet Earth in 2017, has a history in plant-based foods that stretches back 30 years, through its brands Garden Gourmet and Tivall. Together they developed a plant-based burger with the juicy texture of a beef burger that delivers 22 grams of protein. Ingredients like pea protein, natural plant extracts and coconut oil give the Awesome Burger its distinctive raw appearance that transforms when cooked, just like a beef burger. To develop Awesome Burger’s vegan-beef flavor, our chefs worked to create a custom flavor that tastes like beef, but comes from plant-based sources.
